I hope your doctor's visit isn't like this...

Today I was told to restrain my 15 month old child. Yeah, already. Can you believe it? So we went for her check up and she is now to the age where she understands what is going on and doesn't want strangers doing strange things to her (like listening to her heart with a stethoscope because we all know that's so scary). As the doctor is trying to examine her chest, eyes, ears, etc., Kinsleigh begins to have a flailing fit. I'm talking shoving, kicking, and screaming at the doctor and almost throwing herself off of the exam table. So what does the doctor do??? Tells me I need to hold my child down. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but do you know how hard that is? To see your child in pure torture and I just have to hold her down and tell her to endure it. She was scared out of her mind and I had to be a part of it. Not a good feeling. The whole time she was signing and saying she was "all done." It broke my heart. And we hadn't even gotten to the shots yet. That's a whole other story as they did all 4 of them, one by one, and I listened to her crying get louder and watched her shaking get more intense. This makes the doctors office seem like a really scary place doesn't it? I cannot wait until these first 5 years of shots all the time are over! I can't handle it!

Everyone knows who the Berenstain Bears and the other day I found all my old ones as I was going through my teaching supplies. As Sean and I got to talking more and more about them, it somehow turned into us creating a messed up spoof of titles with our name. Strange I know, but here they are...

Our Big Girl!

Today was another first. One I was super excited for, yet kind of sad at the same time. Kinsleigh had her first day of school. Yup, she's a big girl now and going to start coming home being little miss smarty pants before I know it. I was a little sad to know that this day was already going to have to come now that I am working again, but as time went on, I got more and more excited for it! She's going to learn so much, start bringing home little projects, and making new friends! I can't wait to see everything that's in store.

The day started off a little rough like she totally didn't want to be at church that early in the morning on a weekday. But I took little peeks in on her throughout the day (Daddy took a few peeks too) and she was doing great. By the end of the day, she was running around the building blabbering at the top of her lungs! I wish I could know what she was thinking about in that little head of hers... telling us all about her day. And Sean and I were both there to experience every minute of it. It's so amazing that we all get to be under the same roof but doing our own thing! Our family has been truly blessed! What a wonderful church family we have come to be a part of!
